50 milliliters oil
1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
1 teaspoon urad dal
1 teaspoon chana dal
4 red chiles - cut into pieces
2 sprigs curry leaves
2 1/2 cm ginger - julienne
2 green chiles
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/4 teaspoon asafetida
salt to taste

50 grams coriander leaves - chopped
