1/2 c Sugar
1 Egg
1 c Molasses
1 tb Lemon juice
3 1/2 c All purpose flour, sifted
1 t Cinnamon
3/4 ts Ground cloves
1/2 ts Ginger
2 ts Baking soda
1/8 ts Salt
1/3 c Boiling water
1 c Tart apples, pared, cored,
